Florentino Perez wants Jose Mourinho back at Real Madrid but is struggling to convince anyone else at the club it is a good idea.
Perez is looking to replace the hapless Santiago Solari after the holders were embarrassingly dumped out of the Champions League by Ajax on Tuesday.
Marca report Solari is expected to be in the hot seat away at struggling Real Valladolid on Sunday, which could be his final game in charge.

AS reckon Perez wants Mourinho in place as soon as possible, but no one else at the Bernabeu is on board with the president’s plan.
Mourinho, who has been out of work since his sacking at Manchester United in December, is ready to step in at least until the end of the season.
Perez has had enough of Solari and wants an experienced coach to get the squad back on track and finish the disastrous campaign with some pride restored.
Mourinho spent three years at the Bernabeu, winning La Liga in 2012 before returning to Chelsea a year later.
The Portuguese coach got his side playing some exciting football, but as per usual fell out with players and the club’s top brass before his exit.
Los Blancos skipper Sergio Ramos, Karim Benzema and Marcelo all had beef with Mourinho.

And current club general director Jose Angel Sanchez had his issues with the ex-United boss during his time in the Spanish capital and is not thrilled at the prospect of him returning.
Real Madrid are third in La Liga, 12 points behind Barcelona and five behind second-place Atletico, and this season will be the first since 2010 the Spanish giants will have failed to win a trophy.
