Real Madrid ‘approach’ Andre Villas-Boas

Real Madrid have contacted Andre Villas-Boas as they continue their search for a new Coach to replace Zinedine Zidane, say reports.

The 40-year-old left Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG in November after refusing to sign a renewed one-year contract offer, before competing in the 2018 Dakar Rally.

A report in Marca cites RMC Sport as stating the Portuguese has been sounded out by Madrid regarding the possibility of stepping into the vacant Head Coach role at the club.

Villas-Boas began his coaching career in Portugal with Academica and FC Porto, with whom he won a treble including the Europa League title.

He has since coached Chelsea, Tottenham and Zenit Saint Petersburg, before moving to Shanghai in 2016.
