Madrid's fourth UEFA Super Cup
Real Madrid already equalled one of Milan’s feats when they won their second consecutive UEFA Super Cup, after beating Sevilla last season and Manchester United on Tuesday.
Having lost two finals, in 1988 against Chelsea (1-0) and in 2000 against Galatasaray (1-2), the Spanish giants first won the title in 2002 against Feyenoord (3-1). More recent victories came against Sevilla, in 2014 (2-0) and 2016 (3-2).
The fourteenth European Super Cup title for a Spanish side. Barcelona (5), Real Madrid (4), Atletico Madrid (2), Valencia (2) and Sevilla (1) have all won it.
