Real Madrid win 3rd consecutive Club World Cup

Real Madrid won the 2018 FIFA Club World Cup after beating the United Arab Emirates club Al Ain in the final on Saturday.

At the 15th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Real Madrid defeated the host team Al Ain 4-1 to win the tournament.

Spanish side won the final with goals from Luka Modric, Marcos Llorente, Sergio Ramos and an own goal from Yahia Nader while Al Ain’s Tsukasa Shiotani scored the only goal for the host team.

Real Madrid won the cup for the fourth time and third consecutive time.

Last year, Real Madrid won the cup after beating Brazil’s Gremio 1-0.

The six continental champions of the tournament, namely Oceania champion Team Wellington of New Zealand, North American champion CD Guadalajara of Mexico, African champion Esperance Sportive de Tunis of Tunisia, Asian champion Kashima Antlers of Japan and South America’s Libertadores champion River Plate of Argentina, were the other participants of the tournament.

Meanwhile, River Plate beat Kashima Antlers 4-0 and took the third place in the tournament.
