REHOBOTH Football Club defeated Ilaka X1 2-1 to win the WABKEM Water Open football competion decided at Durbar Stadium in Oyo town.
The highly competitive game was watched by a large crowd including members of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola and Hon. Muideen Olagunju-Alatede.
Sponsor of the tournament, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji, expressed satisfaction with the enthusiasm showed by all participating teams, praising the organisers for providing a level-paying field where the potentialities of football talents in the Oyo zone were on display.
Speaking on behalf of Oyo Football Development Council, Alhaji Rasaq Azeez said that stakeholders needed to emulate Hon. Adetunji to further encourage and develop more budding footballers who will not only be useful to the state but the entire country in the near future.
