Rising Stars boosts youth football with cash rewards

Rising Stars Football League (RSFL) has held its first Ultimate Skills Challenge at Bwari Stadium, Abuja as part of its youth empowerment and athletic talent hunt.

The event, according to the organisers, provided a platform for young players to showcase their skills and compete for substantial cash rewards, thereby reinforcing the League’s commitment to developing grassroots football talent.

Unlike previous challenges that involved random fans, Sporting Tribune reports that this year’s competition featured 22 selected players from the recently concluded league season. The players were chosen for their outstanding performances and were given another chance to demonstrate their abilities.

“We made sure that all participants were rewarded for their efforts, with each player receiving an appearance fee of N10,000. The top three performers walked away with significant cash prizes. Emmanuel King emerged as the winner of the skills challenge and took home N250,000. Onyedika Philip secured second place with a prize of N100,000 while Godwin John finished third and received N50,000.

“This initiative by the Rising Stars Football League was more than just a competition. It was a deliberate effort to empower youth and support the development of football skills at the grassroots level. With over one million Naira distributed among the participants, the League demonstrated its dedication to inspiring young talents and contributing to community development,” Ifeanyi Kama, the brain behind the League, told Sporting Tribune.

The Rising Stars Football League has been a platform providing opportunities for young players to excel, with more exciting packages and initiatives planned for the future.

The Super 4 finals will be played at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on September 15.
