Jurgen Klopp has revealed Roberto Firmino is back in contention for their EFL Cup clash with Derby County.
The Liverpool attacker missed the 2-1 away victory over Chelsea on Friday night but Klopp revealed he could have possibly played.
However, the German coach didn’t want to take any risks with the Brazilian’s fitness and opted to leave him out.
The 24-year-old has trained well since the game and he is now close to a return.
But Klopp admitted he’s still not decided his team for the match.
‘There are no decisions yet as the session this afternoon will be important,’ he said.
‘Then decisions. But Firmino is back in training.
‘The medical team told me he could play, but I heard the word “risk” too often. He is perfect now.
‘In my opinion we only have strong line-ups. That’s good news.
‘We will find a strong line-up. We won’t rest 100% fit players.’
