Rohr hails Eagles phenomenal spirit

Super Head coach, Gernot Rohr, says he is counting on the team’s mental focus to progress beyond the first round of Russia 2018 World Cup.

Nigeria is in Group D of Russia 2018 World Cup and will contest the second round ticket against two-time champions, Argentina, 1998 semi-finalist, Croatia and debutantes, Iceland.

Rohr told Grun Weiss: ”This is a hard but fair group. Hard because it is not easy to win any game, and fair because all the teams have a big chance to advance to get past the group.”

Rohr added that the expectation is high among Nigerians but he has so much confidence in his team.

”We don’t have Messi or Ronaldo, but the team pull together to fight, the players have phenomenal spirit and we can see this through the good run of form during the qualifiers where we lost no game and got the World Cup slot even with a match remaining.
