Rohr wants Germany, France

Gernot Rohr has said he has not given up on his dream to come face-to-face with his native Germany or France at next year’s World Cup even after the Super Eagles were drawn alongside Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.

Rohr had hoped the Eagles clash with Germany or France at Russia 2018 before Friday’s draw in Moscow.

“I still hope to meet France or Germany later (at the World Cup),” Rohr said.

Nigeria, for one, could clash with France as early as the Round of 16 if they finished second in Group D and France win Group C.

Both countries clashed at this same stage at Brazil 2014 with Les Bleus winning 2-0.

Rohr again restated the qualities of group rivals Croatia and Iceland.

Croatia and Iceland are very strong. Croatia technically and Iceland physically. They did very well in European championship in France with big support from fantastic fans.”

He also disclosed that after choosing a camp base in Russia for his team, he will analyse and monitor World Cup rivals and continue to scout for players to fortify the squad
