Ronaldo bets on himself to be La Liga’s top scorer

Cristiano Ronaldo’s self-confidence is no secret and in reality, it probably plays an important role in allowing him to be the footballer that he is. Despite his lack of form of late, it seems that he still has a pretty high opinion of himself in front of goal.

Despite having only scored one La Liga goal after the first 11 games of the season, there is not a doubt in the Portuguese’s mind that he will go on to be the Spanish top flight’s top goalscorer this season.

According to ‘El Chiringuito’, the player is so convinced on doing so that he has made a bet with Real Madrid’s captains that he will lift the much sought-after ‘Pichichi’ trophy at the end of the season.

Should Ronaldo achieve his goal, he will donate an unspecified amount of money to charity, with Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Karim Benzema all witnessing their team-mate’s promise.

However, it is already looking like a monstrous task for Ronaldo. The 32-year-old has just one league goal to his name so far this season, whilst Messi (12), Zaza (9), Bakambu (8), Sanabria (7) and Rodrigo (also 7) already have a significant advantage over the Real star.

Will Ronaldo achieve his goal? If there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that he’s more than capable of doing so.
