Cristiano Ronaldo was on hand to help Portugal launch their new kit for the 2022 World Cup.
The Navigators have gone for a rather bold Nike design. Their home jersey features a diagonal half-and-half design, using the country’s traditional pepper red and gorge green colors.
“Portugal’s 2022 kits signal a new era on the horizon for futebol português,” read a statement from Nike.
“On the home kit, Pepper Red and Gorge Green, with Gold Dart tipping, nods to the Portuguese flag while a diagonal line mimics the flag wrapped around the body. National pride is shown through the crest of the Federação Portuguesa de Futebol (FPF) and the esfera armilar, used as a patch on the back collar.”
As for the away edition of the Portugal World Cup kit, Nike added: “The away kit uses Sail White, an off-white tone, to ensure the Portuguese club stands out in a sea of bright white kits.”
Ronaldo and Portugal are in Group H for the 2022 World Cup alongside Ghana, Uruguay, and South Korea.
