Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of the Portugal national football team, has announced the launch of his own YouTube channel titled ‘UR Cristiano’.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who currently plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, made the announcement in a 37-second video posted on his X account on Wednesday.
Captioning the video, he wrote, “The wait is over 👀🎬 My @YouTube channel is finally here! SIUUUbscribe and join me on this new journey.”
Within just one hour of going live, Ronaldo’s YouTube channel had already amassed over one million subscribers.
Following the official launch of his latest venture on the video-sharing platform, Ronaldo promised to use the channel to showcase rarely-seen aspects of his life. His content will explore topics beyond his football career, with several clips already featuring his partner, Georgina Rodríguez, and their children.
He said in one of the videos, “I am very happy to make this project come to life. It has been in my mind for a long time but finally, we have the opportunity to make it real.
“I have always enjoyed having such a strong relationship with fans on social media and my YouTube channel will give me an even bigger platform to do so and they will learn more about me, my family, and my views on many different subjects.”
