Ronaldo reveals Sir Alex Ferguson approached him personally about Man Utd move

CRISTIANO RONALDO has opened up on his first meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson.

The three-time Ballon d’Or winner first met the Manchester United legend when playing against Ferguson’s side for Sporting Lisbon in a pre-season friendly.

Ronaldo starred in the game, tearing John O’Shea to shreds on a regular basis.

And straight after the game Ferguson went up to Ronaldo, told him he wanted to sign him and even introduced him to his new team-mates.

Ronaldo said: “The first game that I played Manchester United it was an unbelievable game. Perfect night. Perfect night.

“When I listen after the game, some of my team-mates say, ‘listen, you’re going to Manchester, trust me’.

“Sir Alex Ferguson was there and said ‘I want to speak with you’.

“I go to the dressing room and he introduced me to the players.

“For me it was a little bit fun, I was a little bit shy.

“Sir Alex Ferguson said to me, ‘listen, I want you now’.

“Everything came so fast. Two days after I speak to the coach, they took me to England, I was in Manchester and I signed.”
