Chelsea defender, Antonio Rudiger has reportedly rejected a contract extension offer from the Blues amid reports linking him with Real Madrid and Milan.

Rudiger, a former Roma defender, sees his contract at Stamford Bridge expire at the end of the season.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Germany international has rejected the first contract extension offer from the 2021 Champions League winners, throwing his future into doubt.

Rudiger “loves the club and Thomas Tuchel”, says Romano, “but Chelsea’s initial contract proposal has not been accepted.”

According to the same report, Real Madrid are interested in securing the player’s services as a free agent at the end of the season.

Romano doesn’t mention Milan, but Rudiger is on the Rossoneri’s radars, according to other reports in Italy.

Milan are on the lookout for a new centre-back to replace Simon Kjaer, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

“The idea had been not to make any investments in January, but Kjaer’s injury has prompted us to evaluate the integration of someone ready or a player who can stay on for next season,” Milan director Paolo Maldini said last week.
