Russia 2018: Argentine players were crying like girls ―Croatian defender

Croatia defender Sime Vrsaljko slammed Argentina players after the 3-0 victory over the Albiceleste on Thursday in their World Cup clash in Russia.

The two heavyweights clashed with Argentina looking for their first win in Russia, but Croatia got the job done in a fashionable manner.

Croatia broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute through Ante Rebic strike after a mistake from goalkeeper Willy Caballero and Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric’s long-range strike doubled the lead before a late strike from Ivan Rakictic sealed the game for the Blazers.

Albiceleste manager Jorge Sampaoli stated after the defeat that his team, in fact, dominated the tie despite the outcome, but Vrsaljko hit back at the Argentine.

“I don’t know what game he watched,”

“I saw Argentinians falling on the floor and crying like girls.

“We were firmer, better, had better chances. They will have to do well in the next game [against Nigeria] to progress to the second round if they even progress,” he said, via Croatian media.

With the result, Croatia moved to the top of Group D with six points from two opening games, while Argentina is third with one point from two games.

Up next for Croatia is the game against Iceland but before then Iceland will play Nigeria and Argentina will play their final group game against Nigeria.
