Russia 2018: Draw okay against Nigeria ―Iceland coach

The eyes of the world are on the Icelandic National Team following their 1-1 draw with two-time world champions Argentina at the Spartak Moscow on Saturday.

With the Nordic country preparing to take on Nigeria in their second World Cup game on Friday, manager Heimir Hallgrimsson has hinted that he will park the bus against the three-time African champions as it’s not a must-win game for his team.

”It is a must-win game for Nigeria that makes it a little bit technical, they have to win, at least we know that,” Hallgrimsson told reporters.

”A draw will be okay for us, at least we have a chance in the last game.

”This group is going to be decided in the last minute, in the last game, it is going to be down to some margins: set piece, extra-time goal.”

Iceland captain Aron Gunnarsson stressed that they must return their focus to Nigeria or the impressive point they earned against Argentina will not be useful, if they lose to the Africans.

The Cardiff City midfielder was in action for 76 minutes against Lionel Messi and co. on Saturday.
