Russia 2018: Eagles’ hotel downgraded

Investigations have revealed that the Sanatorium Istochnik in Essentuki, where the Super Eagles are booked in for the World Cup has been downgraded to a three-star hotel, while Group D rivals Iceland and Croatia have secured 4-star hotels for the same tournament.

The Eagles hotel was previously a 4 and half star hotel, but it is now a 3-star hotel, meaning it offers less facilities and services than the hotels of rivals Iceland and Croatia.

Iceland have booked the Resort Nadezha in Gelendzhik, while Croatia will use the Woodland Rhapsody Resort in Leningrad as their base camp.

Argentina have secured the Training base Bronnitsy in the Moscow area as their main base for Russia 2018.

It would be recalled that Nigeria lost millions of Naira at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa on account of a breach of contract after they booked a hotel as their base camp only to later reject it.
