Ahmed Musa
Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr is hoping Ahmed Musa will find the net again in today’s clash against Argentina and helps his team progress to the last sixteen of the World Cup.
The former Kano Pillars star took his tally in the World Cup to four goals, with a brace against Iceland last Friday, and became Nigeria’s top scorer in the history of the competition in the process.
”We are very happy about Musa’s nice goals, these were goals constructed by the team, no set-pieces, through fast attacks,” Rohr said at today’s pre-match press conference.
”Musa scored the goals with wonderful technique and I hope he will do it again. He worked very hard, he didn’t play last year in Leicester, I asked the team for him to go to a club to play to have competition and be match fit.
”He returned to Russia, I saw him in Moscow end of February and he was fighting, working very hard and deserved to come back to the national team as a starting player.
”We have good strikers in his position, I hope the confidence he has now will help the team to have a good result against Argentina.”
