At the draw for Russia 2018 World Cup picked in Moscow on Friday, Nigeria were zoned in Group D with Croatia, Iceland and Argentina for the race for top two slots going into the second round.
At their maiden World Cup appearance in the USA in 1994, the Eagles were beaten 2-1 by Argentina, 1-0 at the 2002 and 2010 at the finals held at South Korea-Japan and South Africa respectively.
More recently at Brazil 2014 World Cup, the Argentines smiled home with a 3-2 win over Eagles.
Nigeria have never played against either Croatia or Iceland be it competitive of friendly but the exploits of Croatian internationals, namely-Ivan Rakitic FC Barcelona, Luca Modric FC Real Madrid and Ivan Perisic of FC internazionale are well-known to Nigerians.
Nigeria play their first match against the Croats on June 16 at the Kalininigrad Stadium.
