Super Eagles players celebrating their goal
Super Eagles goalkeeper, Dele Alampasu has backed the Nigeria team to reach the quarter-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup starting on Thursday in Russia.
Speaking to SportingTribune in Ibadan on Sunday, the former Nigeria youth international who dropped from the Super Eagles squad in August said there is no crisis in the national team, adding that the coach picked the best legs for the country.
He said the results of the pre-World Cup friendly games were not a reflection of the results would post in Russia.
“The results of the friendly game are important but they are just to get the reach of the game because we are putting all our efforts to play a friendly game and we get to the main tournament and we can’t perform well that will cause damage.
“We don’t have goalkeeper crisis in the team, the coach that chose the goalkeepers knows what they are capable of doing and I have no regrets for not making it to the World cup.
“For me I see them in the quarter-finals,” he said.
