Sadio Mane brace propels Senegal to 4-2 win over Brazil

Senegal showcased their dominance in a thrilling encounter against Brazil in a friendly held at Estadio Jose Alvalade, home of Sporting Lisbon.

Former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane stole the spotlight with a remarkable brace, propelling Senegal to a 4-2 victory over the Selecao

The game kicked off with West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta giving Brazil an early lead in the 11th minute. However, Senegal quickly responded as Habib Diallo found the back of the net to level the score.

In the second half, Senegal took control when a stroke of misfortune struck Brazil. Marquinhos inadvertently scored an own goal, handing Senegal the lead. Mane, always a force to be reckoned with, extended their advantage in the 57th minute with a clinical finish.

Brazil fought back as Marquinhos redeemed himself, this time scoring at the right end to reduce the deficit. However, Mane sealed the victory for Senegal with a late penalty, completing his brace and cementing his influence on the match.

Notably, the match featured an array of talent from England-based clubs, with nine players from both sides making the starting XIs. Among Brazil’s lineup were Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson, Newcastle midfielders Joelinton and Bruno Guimaraes, and Tottenham forward Richarlison. On the other hand, Senegal boasted the likes of Nottingham Forest defender Moussa Niakhate, Chelsea centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, Leicester midfielder Nampalys Mendy, and Watford forward Ismaila Sarr.

In the end, Senegal emerged victorious, showcasing their prowess on the football field, while Brazil were left to regroup and learn from the experience.
