Salah will be fit to face Arsenal -Klopp

Liverpool have been given a huge boost on the eve of their clash with Arsenal as Mo Salah ‘looks like he will be available’ to play.

The Egyptian suffered a foot injury against Brighton in Liverpool’s 2-0 win at the weekend and had been a doubt for the trip to the Emirates.

But Klopp said: “Mo is a tough cookie and the foot was swollen and painful yesterday, less so today, he was ready to train today so we’ll see how it looks. It looks like he will be available.”

The Egyptian star headed straight down the tunnel after being substituted against the Seagulls on Saturday, just five minutes after he had coolly dispatched a penalty to put his team 2-0 up in the second half.

Egyptian FA spokesman Walid El-Atar had earlier confirmed that Salah’s injury is a minor one and he will be 100% fit to play Senegal games on the 25th and 29th of this month.

“The national team medical staff are always in contact with Salah and Liverpool medical staff,” El-Atar said.

“I can say that his [Salah’s] injury is minor and it will not prevent him from participating in Senegal games.”

The Reds are just four points behind leaders Man City with two games in hand, although in-form Arsenal are likely to put up a real challenge.

Klopp had last week said the ball was in Salah’s court regarding his new contract before the winger’s agent took to Twitter to post a line of crying with laughter emojis, as if to dismiss what the manager said.

When asked about it, Klopp said: “Not on Twitter, another good reason for that. You got me in the trap and I created headlines.

“All is fine. I don’t know about any kind of reaction but I am not concerned. It is how it should be. The decisive parties are in contact.”
