Real Madrid has been informed via an intermediary that Mohamed Salah would not be available for anything less than the price Barcelona paid for Philippe Coutinho, £142m, say reports in Spain, most notably in El Confidential.
The report goes on: “The transfer fee could even come closer to the €180m that PSG will pay this summer for [Kylian] Mbappe.” A quick currency conversion tells us that’s around £159m.

Having scored 32 goals in all competitions this season, and still only 25 years old, it’s hard to imagine Liverpool selling Salah for any price. Real Madrid have their ways, of course, but there are few signs that Salah is unhappy on Merseyside or likely to agitate for a transfer.
Campaign in Spain?
That said, the cranking up of the media campaign in Spain suggests that Real’s interest could have firmed up in recent months. Los Blancos have a long history of testing the water over big transfers in the press.

The report in El Confidential suggests that Real are also seriously interested in Robert Lewandowski and Eden Hazard, players which have long been linked with a high-profile move to the Bernabeu.
Karim Benzema is reportedly available for transfer to help fund the moves, as well as Bale.
