Samuel Iling-Junior: Rising Juventus star from Chelsea’s academy

Samuel Iling-Junior, a product of Chelsea’s esteemed academy program, continues the tradition of the London club producing exceptional talents.

At the age of 16, Iling-Junior was promoted to Chelsea’s Under-19s squad, showcasing his immense potential. However, inspired by his former teammate Jamal Musiala’s success at Bayern Munich, the young English prospect had ambitions of testing himself abroad.

Initially, Iling-Junior joined Juventus’ reserve side in Italy. Through a series of impressive performances, he quickly caught the attention of the senior team.

Notably, he became the first Englishman since David Platt to score for the Bianconeri, with a memorable goal against Atalanta. Iling-Junior’s journey as a young and exciting winger with the Italian giants has been nothing short of remarkable.

Iling-Junior mainly plays as a winger, either on the left or right. His versatility allowed him to be deployed in various areas of the pitch by Juventus U19 coach Andrea Bonatti, namely as a left-back, left or right forward, attacking midfielder, or central midfielder. Iling-Junior’s Serie A debut came against Empoli in October, and just four days later, he featured in the Champions League, providing an assist to Arkadiusz Milik in their narrow 4-3 defeat to Benfica. These early experiences have allowed him to gain valuable exposure at the highest level of European football.
