See why Bayern’s coach Julian Nagelsmann is in trouble with German FA

Bayern Munich’s head coach Julian Nagelsmann is under investigation by the German Football Association (DFB) for his behavior towards match officials during the club’s 3-2 defeat against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Nagelsmann was furious after Dayot Upamecano was sent off in the eighth minute of the Bundesliga game and reportedly confronted referee Tobias Welz after the game.

Nagelsmann has admitted that he went too far when confronting Welz and his assistants, and could now face punishment for “unsportsmanlike comments”.

The DFB has confirmed that it will send an official letter to Nagelsmann, and his response will determine whether further action is taken.

“As a first step, Julian Nagelsmann will be written to by the control committee at the beginning of the new week and asked to comment on the alleged incident,” the DFB said.

“After the statement has been received and evaluated, the committee will decide on the further progress of the procedure.”

In an apology posted on Twitter, Nagelsmann stated that emotions are a part of sport, but he acknowledged that he went too far and apologized for his choice of words to the team around Welz.

“Emotions are part of sport. And given the red card, I had to vent after the game.

“However, I have to apologise for the choice of words to the team around Tobias Welz. Unfortunately, I went too far there.
