Jack Wilshere has been the subject of a bid from Sampdoria.
The 25-year-old spent last season out on loan at Bournemouth, making 25 appearances before a fractured leg ended his season. With just 12 months left on his contract at the Emirates, the playmaker is widely expected to leave the club this summer and it seems like he could head for Serie A.
Sampdoria have made a cut-price bid to take the midfielder to Serie A, which would allow him to follow in the footsteps of Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, who spent last season on loan at Torino.
Wilshere did not take part in Arsenal’s pre-season tour, instead staying in the UK to work on his fitness ahead of the new season.
Arsenal begin their campaign on August 6 in the Community Shield against Chelsea.
Last weekend Arsene Wenger said that “I think Jack will be with Arsenal next season, yes.” Though it remains to be seen if Sampdoria’s interest will change the situation.
