Sesko strikes late as Man United beat Fulham

Benjamin Sesko scored in stoppage time as Manchester United beat Fulham to record a third consecutive Premier League win under Michael Carrick at Old Trafford.

The game was preceded by a protest attended by between 500 and 600 fans, according to police sources. On the pitch, United appeared in control after Casemiro and Matheus Cunha gave the hosts a two-goal lead with strikes either side of half-time.

Fulham responded late on. Raul Jimenez reduced the deficit from the penalty spot five minutes from time before Kevin fired in an equaliser that looked to have secured a point for the visitors.

But after nine minutes of added time, largely due to two VAR checks that saw a United penalty overturned and a Fulham goal ruled out, Sesko turned on to a Bruno Fernandes pass and finished from inside the area to settle the contest.

Casemiro opened the scoring after a free-kick was awarded when a penalty decision for a foul on Cunha was overturned following a VAR review. Fernandes delivered the set-piece, and Casemiro headed in at the far post.

Eleven minutes into the second half, Casemiro released Cunha through the Fulham defence, and the forward doubled United’s lead.

Jimenez later converted his penalty after being fouled by Harry Maguire, while Kevin’s strike briefly swung the momentum before Sesko’s late intervention.

The result lifts United back into the Premier League’s top four. Carrick needed just three league matches to record three straight wins, a feat that took Ruben Amorim 36 games during his time in charge.
