Shooting Stars, one of the contender for NPFL ticket.
Olufemi Opeoluwa scored twice as the Shooting Stars Sports Club, (3SC) of Ibadan on Sunday as spanked Bayelsa United 4-0 in one of the match day three of the Nigeria National League (NNL) fixtures.
Olufemi scored the first goal in 55th minute with a header, while he made it a brace in the 66th minute of the game.
Super substitute Abduljabar Abubakar made it 3-0 in 90th minute.
Ayobami Junior scored the last goal of the day in the stoppage time.
Mohammed Akilu had earlier wasted the spot kick awarded the Edith Agoye-piloted side in the 33rd minute.
Speaking after the match, Agoye said the result served as a big statement for the team having played a draw against Bendel Insurance in their first home game.
He said: “I’m very happy with this result and it’s very important for us to record the three maximum points at home after letting our fans down with the goalless draw against the Insurance a fortnight ago. This is a big statement and it shows that Shooting Stars are back in contention.”
Meanwhile, Bayelsa United coach, Richard Bubugha said pre-match tactics failed them.
”We did not bargain for this. After keeping a clean sheet in the first half, we failed to go all the way, our tactics could not endure materialise but we will go back home and re-strategise ahead of subsequent matches”.
