Chelsea striker, Nicolas Jackson has hit back at former Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi over his repeated criticism.
Mikel, who has been advocating for Chelsea to sign a new striker to replace the Senegalese international, recently criticised Jackson for his performance in the 2-0 loss to Manchester City last week, claiming he is not of the quality Chelsea need.
The former Nigerian captain, speaking on beIN Sport after the game said. “We created chances, we haven’t taken them. And just an example of how Jackson finishes. You can see there, even though he was offside, he dribbles (past) one or two or three players and the way he shoots the ball!
“You need a striker who knows how to hit a ball into the back of the net, and that’s what we don’t have. I know I talk so much about him and sometimes I sound like I disrespect him. I don’t disrespect him. A bit like (Haaland), 91 goals (for City), that’s absolutely unbelievable.”
Reacting to Mikel’s comments after Chelsea’s game against Wolverhampton on Sunday, Nicolas Jackson, who netted the first goal just 68 seconds into the match, warned Mikel Obi to ‘shut up’ and refrain from criticising him.
Taking to his Instagram page after the game, he wrote: “@Mikel_john_obi shut your mouth. Don’t talk s***, we are killing ourselves for Africa.”
Nicolas Jackson, who signed for Chelsea last summer from Villarreal, has now scored 18 goals and registered seven assists across 46 appearances for the London club.
