Gernot Rohr has said another scan will be carried out on injured Moses Simon before a final decision is taken on the winger leading up to the World Cup in Russia.
“Another examination will be done (on Moses Simon injury),” Rohr said before the friendly against DR Congo in Port Harcourt.
SCORENigeria further gathered that this scan will most likely be in London.
Rohr said if it is then confirmed he will be out for up to three weeks, the KAA Gent star will be dropped from the World Cup squad as he will not recover in time for the tournament.
Simon suffered a thigh injury and limped out of the Super Eagles’ training session on Thursday and sat out subsequent sessions.
Simon, who plays for KAA Gent in Belgium, has been a regular in the Super Eagles squad under Gernot Rohr.
The player was one of the certainties to be in Rohr’s final squad of 23 players before this setback.
He played a key role and scored once as Nigeria sealed their 2018 World Cup qualification.
A former youth international, Simon has won 17 caps for his country at senior level and scored three goals.
