Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are in an advantageous position to secure the services of Jubril Okedina after the Tottenham Hotspur defender pledged his international future to the three-time African champions.
Born in London to Nigerian parents, Okedina can also represent England internationally but has no caps for the Young Lions.

The centre back’s camp has opened a line of communication with the NFF second vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi in particular, about the Spurs starlet playing for the Nigeria youth teams and those talks were fruitful.
The 19-year-old would have been considered for Nigeria’s U23 National Team that headed to Egypt on Thursday but Coach Imama Amapakabo had already finalised his roster.

Okedina, who can also slot in at right-back, inked a one-year professional contract with Tottenham Hotspur in the summer and the North London club have the option to extend his deal for an additional season.
This season, he has been involved in all but one of the matches contested by Tottenham in the Premier League 2.
