Stakeholders have called for the probe of the collapsed Empire Section within Abeokuta Sports Club, in Ogun State.
Abeokuta Sports Club, located in the highbrow Ibara GRA in Abeokuta, Ogun State, represents a symbol of class and excellence.
The club is one of Nigeria’s foremost clubs of a long history of excellence and exclusively designed for men of high administrative capabilities and major decision-makers from all walks of life.
One of the prominent hubs in the club is the famous Empire Section that flaunts members with impressive track records in the various field of human endeavours.
Presently, the much-envied Empire Section is currently allegedly enmeshed in a financial misappropriation scandal that is already threatening its reputation, according to a prominent member of the section, Chief Adewale Adesina, who said the crux of the matter is not unconnected with a building project that has gone wrong.
Adesina revealed that Empire Section embarked on a multimillion naira building project aimed at strengthening the continuous developmental efforts of the club. He said, “Trouble started  when the multimillion naira building project nearing completion gave way and collapsed.”
He said the collapsed building project caused a stir among members who he said were embarrassed by the unfortunate incident.
To prevent a reoccurrence, Adesina stated that aggrieved members of the section “are seeking a probe into the incident to ascertain if there’s any possible misappropriation.”
