FOOTBALL stakeholders in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of Oyo State, have called on the Oyo State government through the Oyo State Sports Council to urgently repair the collapsed fence at the Eleruwa Township Stadium, Eruwa.
One of the stakeholders, Mr Kolawole Adegbile, told Tribunesport that residents who live around the area now use the opportunity of the collapsed fence to encroach on the football pitch anytime.
“The most painful part of this story is that people even walk through the pitch when footballers are having their training session; I mean this act constitutes distraction to the players.
“Another serious situation inside the Stadium is the administrative office therein, which is on the verge of collapse. In order to avert the collapse of the building which may also result in untoward story, the Oyo State government should please try as much as possible to see to this looming disaster and act accordingly.
“The government should also help us rebuild the collapsed fence so that sporting activities at the Eleruwa Township Stadium will not at any point in time be disrupted,” Adegbile told Tribunesport.
