Borussia Dortmund have moved to strengthen their defence for the coming season by signing Niklas Süle from Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.
Süle, whose contract at the Allianz Arena expires in June, has agreed a four-deal with BVB, where he will be reunited with former Bayern centre-back Mats Hummels at the heart of Dortmund’s defence.
“We’re delighted that in Niklas we’ve been able to sign a Germany international on a free transfer and for four years,” said Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc in a statement on the club’s official website.

“Niklas demonstrated personally during our discussions that he’s got a great desire to come to Borussia Dortmund,” added Sebastian Kehl, who will take over from Zorc in the summer. “He’s got a lot of experience, is calm on the ball and has the necessary physique to be able to take the next step with us from the summer onwards.”
