On-loan Liverpool striker to Royal Excel Mouscron, Taiwo Awoniyi, has thrown is confident the Super Eagles will shine at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Awoniyi, who was in Ibadan on Sunday for a charity game for Orji Okwonkwo against the Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan (3SC), said the team would make the country proud when the mudial begins on Thursday.
He said he had no regrets for not being in the squad, but said he was optimistic that the squad will do well at the Russia 2018.
“I have no regrets not going to the FIFA World Cup, I have always been training well, I was not part of the team from the start, but I believe they will do great.
“At the moment, the World Cup is near, Super Eagles will do the best for Nigeria.
“For me as a player of Liverpool, I have always been working hard to do my best and look forward to what the future holds.
On his Liverpool contract, the FIFA U-17 World Cup winner said: “I have a deal with Liverpool, we just need to sit and thrash things out ahead of the new season.”
