Coach Florence Omagbemi’s ladies failed to see off their Abuja based male opponents in a warm-up game played on Wednesday
Nigeria’s senior women team was forced to a 2-2 draw by Abees Academy in a friendly match played at the practice pitch of the National Stadium, Abuja on Wednesday evening.
Goals from Sunday Uchechi and Francisca Ordega helped the Florence Omagbemi’s side managed a comeback to hold their male opposition.
The Super Falcons started the clash on the back foot as they found themselves 2-0 down no thanks to Damilola Majero’s brilliant in the first half.
However, Uchechi pulled one back through a deflection before Ordega leveled up for 2-2 to ensure the women national side avoided defeat in their third pre-tournament friendly.
Previously, the African representatives had suffered a 4-2 defeat to Eaglesnet Academy before a 1-0 win over the Falconets in their two opening test match games.
They will continue their preparations for this month’s Africa Women’s Cup of Nations when they next face Capital City Doves on Saturday.
Omagbemi is expected to submit her final 21-woman squad in coming days as she is hoping to defend the African women title they won in Namibia in 2014.
