Tammy Abraham won’t play for Nigeria ―Ikpeba

Former Super Eagles forward, Victor Ikpeba has revealed that Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham will never want to represent Nigeria at the senior level.

The Atlanta Olympic gold medalist stated this during Monday Night Football on Supersports that was monitored by Soccernet.ng.

Ikpeba, who lauded Tammy’s impressive goal-scoring form for the Blues in the Premier League, said that the former Aston Villa forward won’t want to play for Nigeria.

He also commended Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard for showing confidence on the youngster and believed that Tammy would continue to improve with every game.

“Having that confidence to score goals has improved Tammy Abraham at Chelsea. Credit should go to Frank Lampard for believing in him. Besides, getting a hattrick against Wolves shows that Tammy has been improving from game to game.

“However, I don’t see him playing for Nigeria’s Super Eagles despite call for his inclusion in the team. Yes, he’s a quality player but then, I doubt if he would want to play for Nigeria.”

Recall that on Monday, the former Monaco striker defended Super Eagles technical adviser, Gernot Rohr for the changes he made in the team’s 2-2 draw against Ukraine in an international friendly match.

He criticized those faulting Rohr’s tactical changes against Ukraine and said that the result of the game shouldn’t be used as a yardstick to judge the German tactician.
