Team Region 19 wins 2nd edition of RCCG Junior Church Sports Fiesta

Team Region 19 defeated 25 other regional Junior Church teams to win the 2nd edition of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) annual Junior Church Sports Fiesta on Saturday.

The one week long sports fiesta attracted Junior Church teams from 26 regions out of the 55 RCCG regions in Nigeria.

Team Region 19 won 21 gold medals, 4 silvers and 1 bronze to emerge as the overall best team.

While Team Region 11 came a close second with 19 gold medals, 8 silvers and 4 bronze medals, with Team Region 22 coming a distance third with 10 gold medals and 1 silver medal.

The players contested in four categories according to their age range from age 6 – 9, 10 – 12, 13 – 15 and 16 – 19 in different indoors games such as scrabbles, precept, table tennis and outdoor hands such as basketball, sack race, athletics.

The competition continues this Wednesday for the adults category in outdoor games such as football, badminton, basketball, Tables Tennis and athletics.

According to RCCG National Junior Church Sports Head of Department, Oladele Janet Amotho told Sporting Tribune that the General Overseer of RCCG Worldwide, Pastor Enoch Adeboye will this Sunday August 11th present the overall trophy to region 19 Team the winners of the junior Church category and also the winner of the adult church category.
