Ten Hag criticizes Man United’s lack of passion in Newcastle defeat

Manchester Utd manager, Erik ten Hag admitted that his team lacked the “passion, determination and desire” shown by Newcastle United in their 2-0 loss to the Magpies.

Joe Willock and Callum Wilson scored the goals for Newcastle at St. James’ Park, causing Man Utd to drop down to fourth place in the Premier League table, just one point ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently without a manager.

In an interview with Sky Sports after the game, Ten Hag expressed disappointment in his team’s performance.

“I hated to see it, but they were better today, especially with their determination, their passion and desire. They wanted to win more than us,” Ten Hag said.

“Our attacking game was not good enough. I don’t want to be focused on one person because it has nothing to do with one person, it was about team performance. We didn’t break them

“I think in the first half we had a chance on the right side with Antony and Diogo [Dalot], but from over the left side came almost nothing. That is the conclusion after this game.

”It’s normal. In a season you have setbacks and you have to deal with it. We’ve done it so many times. Recently after Liverpool, we came back so I don’t have that concern, I believe in my team and I believe they will bounce back.
