The best tweets as Tottenham, PSG crash out of Champions League

Banter and lamentations were in full flow as Tottenham Hostpur and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) both crashed out of the Champions League in the round of 16 stage.

Tottenham played out a bore 0-0 draw with AC Milan, with the Italians having the advantage courtesy of a 1-0 win in Italy. PSG on the other hand were undone by two second-half goals from former player Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Serge Gnabry.

As is customary with Champions League nights, Twitter was in full activity, here are some of the best tweets from the night.

Cristiano Ronaldo fan takes a not-too-subtle shade at Lionel Messi for exiting the Champions League with PSG

@_AsiwajuLerry Cristiano Ronaldo will never play with a team full of stars like PSG and bottle a UCL knockout stage. He will always rise to the stage and deliver. This is why he’s called the GOAT.

@sujodamystique Mbappe wearing the captain’s armband in a team with Messi, Ramos, and Veratti is crazy

@Letter_to_Jack Mbappe will regret that decision to renew at PSG.

@EdmundOris This PSG team would play this game for 627383839 hours and they’ll not score. Just dey gba the whole place.

@Tunnykvng AC Milan this, Benfica that, real Chelsea fans want Bayern Munich in the Quarterfinal!!

@JamesTMaw That Kulusevski sub an act of footballing cowardice from Conte. I can’t fathom it. The best creator in the squad hooked for a centre-back with seemingly flaky confidence. Damage limitation for himself, maybe? Don’t see any good reason why Spurs would or should persist with this.
