The Oluyole Warriors target man feels his side deserved at least a point in their away defeat in Jos as he believes the referee worked against them.
Shooting Stars striker Adetunji Sunday believes his side did not deserve to lose 1-0 to Plateau United in their Match Day 34 clash of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
After recording an astonishing 4-0 win over Kano Pillars last time out, the Oluyole Warriors travelled to Jos with high hopes but the loss to Plateau United dampened their confidence.
“We played so well to at least earn a point,” Adetunji told Goal.
“The confidence and composure was even noted by the fans due to the cheers we got.
“We really deserved much more than what we got but the referee ruined the show for us.”
The Oluyole Warriors sit in 14th position on the NPFL table with 41 points from 32 matches, and are involved in a multi-team relegation battle, but Adetunji insists Gbenga Ogunbote’s side will be fine at the end of the campaign.
“No we aren’t a relegation candidate, we shall finish this season well.
“We shall approach all the remaining matches left this season with the right attitude,” he concluded.
