Chief Executive Officer of Think it, Ogunyemi Joseph Ariyo, last Thursday engaged OAPs in an 5-a-side football competition so to bring out the best in them, as he appealed to the authorities to boost sports development in Nigeria.
The match was tagged: Think it and friends novelty match where the likes of Owomoyela Nifemi (Peteru), Mister Rain and Akinsete Olakunle, among others featured.
Ogunyemi, who is an entrepreneur urged the government at all levels to do more for sports devel- opment especially in rural areas which boast many talents instead of bringing established players from overseas.
He enjoined other entrepreneurs to invest more in themselves and grow their network of friends saying
“in the end, we’ll be needing one another.”
Ogunyemi highlighted the motives behind the friendly match played at Sports Centre, Onireke, Ibadan.
“It is an opportunity to draw awareness and celebrate some of the industry key players that have contributed to the successes of the all white party over the years.
“Some of the invited people here are footballers but to AOPs, they are doing well in the industry.
“Football will give us the opportunity to exercise, and stay fit. The majority of the players who graced the event have been friends and acquaintances over the years and as you can see, our job and roles as entertainers and event organisers go side by side with the media without whom we won’t have the kind of publicity and awareness we are currently enjoying,” he said.
