Chelsea fans expressed their dissatisfaction with co-owner and chairman Todd Boehly after the team’s defeat to Brighton on Saturday.
The Blues were outplayed by Brighton and lost 2-1 despite a lucky opening goal. The visitors dominated possession, registering 2.94 expected goals compared to Chelsea’s 0.54. Goals from Danny Welbeck and Julio Enciso sealed Roberto De Zerbi’s side’s victory.
At full-time, tensions boiled over in the Chelsea home end when Boehly was seen arguing with supporters. Boehly’s tenure at Chelsea has been characterized by record spending on players, leaving the first-team squad bloated and in need of trimming.

Some reports have even suggested that the club’s Cobham training facilities are too small to accommodate all the players.

Boehly made some questionable decisions during his tenure, including sacking Champions League-winning coach Thomas Tuchel and replacing him with Graham Potter. He recently re-hired Frank Lampard as a caretaker coach.
Boehly also drew criticism for predicting that Chelsea would beat Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, a match they lost 2-0. This prediction led to him becoming infamous in the Spanish media.
Chelsea will host Real Madrid on Tuesday, needing a minor miracle to overturn a 2-0 deficit against the reigning champions.
The match will be another test for Boehly, who has come under increasing pressure from Chelsea fans due to his decisions and spending.
