Unless it’s a penalty, Spurs haven’t found the net for five games now
Tottenham fans were an angry bunch on Wednesday evening, as their Champions League experience at Wembley took another wrong turn.
After Monaco won there in September, it was Bayer Leverkusen’s turn to take three points at the national stadium this time around, with Spurs turning in a terrible display to help them do it.
With a disjointed midfield and misplaced passes when going forward, Mauricio Pochettino’s side never really got going.
And there was little surprise when they fell 1-0 down midway through the second half when Leverkusen’s Kevin Kampl fired home.
And the loss means that Spurs have now failed to score from open play in each of their last FIVE matches.
Vincent Janssen’s penalties in the EFL Cup loss Liverpool and the draw at home to Leicester in the Premier League are all that they’ve managed in the last few games, and plenty of different players are getting the blame.
And what lies on the horizon for them? Why none other than a North London derby.
