Tottenham star admits: Things couldn’t be any worse for us ahead of Arsenal clash

HUGO LLORIS admits Tottenham are in disarray ahead of Sunday’s north London derby against Arsenal.

Spurs fell to their second Wembley defeat of the season in the Champions League last night.

Lloris was between the sticks as Bayer Leverkusen won 1-0 at the national stadium.

Tottenham also lost their opening group game to Monaco at English football’s HQ – and now face an uphill battle to get out of their group.

To make matters worse, Spurs have been struggling domestically too having not won since beating Manchester City in early October.

And captain Lloris admits they’re not in good shape ahead of Sunday’s visit to rivals Arsenal.

“We cannot be in a worse situation,” he said.

“After a bad game like today we need to question ourselves, recover and be ready for Sunday.

“It was difficult to recognise our team. As a team, we are very aggressive, very calm under pressure, and against Bayer was completely the opposite.

“It is important to look forward because there is an important game on Sunday.

“In football, you can win, you can lose. The most important thing is the feeling that you show through the pitch, the attitude you show on the pitch.

“Against Bayer, to be honest, the feeling is very bad. It’s difficult to accept that performance. It was the same case against Monaco.

“But in general the team used to be consistent in terms of performance. We’re not used to losing a lot and hopefully that will help us to bounce back and to get the three points.”

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are the only unbeaten team in the Premier League.

But their winless run has seen them fall three points off joint-leaders Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
