Tricycle Riders Team win Yamaha Cup in Ibadan

The Tricycle Riders team in Ibadan on Sunday won the maiden edition of Yamaha Cup organised by CFAO Yamaha Motor Nigeria Limited.

The four weeks long 5-a-side football tournament was played among stakeholders in the mobility industry which includes Motorcycle Riders, Tricycle Riders, Max Okada Team and MC Mechanic Team.
The games which kicked off on February 7 which was aimed at fostering camaraderie and encourage physical fitness, wellness among the players.

Speaking at the event, Oyo State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Raphael Afonja who was represented by Mr. Bolaji Oyekanmi congratulated the winning team and expressed satisfaction in what Yamaha has done in bringing stakeholders in the transport sub-sector together to compete against one another in a friendly and fun environment.

The Marketing Manager of CFAO Yamaha, Mr. Victor Momodu said organiser of the tournament, Yamaha Cup is our own way of giving back to our customers and promoting unity and togetherness because you need your whole team contributing to win a game of football.

“The final of the Lagos edition of the Yamaha Cup will be played on Saturday, March 7 in Ikorodu.

“At CFAO Yamaha we put our customers first and we are always seeking to revive their heart by giving them all round value whether in an experiential manner or otherwise. We are very happy that the Yamaha Cup 2020 5-a-side tournament has provided complete entertainment to our people; the players, coach, their supporters and the general public.

The winner’s medal, prize and trophy was presented to the super excited Tricycle team by the representative of Oyo State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Raphael Afonja, in person of the Senior Special Assistant to the Honourable Commissioner Mr. Bolaji Oyekanmi.
