TV stars at Giggs’ celebration

As a treble winner, former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs is all too familiar with the power of three.

So when it came to celebrating the third anniversary of the opening of his restaurant George’s in Worsley on Thursday night, the Welshman was ready to make it a night to remember.

Giggs was joined by former team-mate Nicky Butt for the bash as host of TV personalities from the North West joined in the festivities.

Former I’m A Celebrity… contestant and Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter made an appearance, along with Coronation Street actresses Katie McGlynn and Kym Marsh – who appeared with her partner Matt Baker.

The revellers will have been able to dine out on a wide-ranging menu, with hand-dived scallops served with Bombay potatoes available for £25.95, and 8oz steak fillets available off the grill for the same price.

And for those really looking to celebrate in style there were bottles of Dom Perignon 2005 on the menu for a cool £180.

Just like the United side he played in, Giggs’ restaurant is at the top its game and was awarded an AA rosette back in 2015 – putting it in the top 10 per cent of restaurants in the country.

The former Wales international co-owns the joint, which opened in 2014, with Kelvin Gregory and Bernie Taylor.

Giggs has been out of football since he left Manchester United’s assistant manager role in the summer following the arrival of Jose Mourinho.

The 43-year-old failed in his application to become Swansea boss last year.
