Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has expressed his belief that his team will eliminate Real Madrid from the UEFA Champions League.
Manchester City has advanced to the semi-finals for the third consecutive season, having beaten Bayern Munich 4-1 on aggregate. They now face Real Madrid, the reigning champions, in a repeat of last year’s semi-final.
Manchester City had won the first leg 4-3 and were leading 1-0 in the second leg until stoppage time when Rodrygo scored twice to level the scores, and Real Madrid ultimately won on penalties to reach the final against Liverpool.

It continued Man City’s long run of unlikely European failures, but when speaking to BT Sport on Wednesday, Silva was asked whether his side could exact revenge on Real Madrid.

“Hopefully yes! We will go for it definitely. We always go for it, but we feel the team is very, very confident at the minute. I think we are going through.”
Man City are unbeaten in all competitions since February 5 when they were defeated 1-0 by Tottenham, and Silva said there is a confidence in the dressing room again having rediscovered their ruthless edge.
“Very confident. We’re in a very good moment, the best moment of the season for the team. We struggled until February because we couldn’t get in that usual run we had in the past, winning 10 or 15 or 20 games in a row,” he added.
“Now, the team is very consistent, the way we’re playing, we feel we have a chance in every competition. We’re going for that.“
