Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has heaped praise on France defender Benjamin Pavard, describing him as an underrated player.

Tuchel made the statement in his post-match conference in the aftermath of Bayern Munich’s 4-2 Klassiker win over rivals Borussia Dortmund

“He is an underrated player“, Tuchel said.

He can adapt to the highest level and he defends rigorously. He is a top team player, he immediately had my confidence and proved to me that I had been right.”

The German coach is showing signs of confidence in his player, who is reportedly considering his future with the Bundesliga giants.

Pavard, who prefers to play centre-back rather than right-back, is tied to a contract with Bayern Munich which is due to expire in 2024. It is therefore expected that clubs will come knocking at Bayern’s door for Pavard during the next transfer window.
