Nigerian international, Alex Iwobi has said he is in the best frame of mind to play against Zambia tomorrow, as he however, said only the coach knows who to feature in any game.
The Super Eagles face the Chipolopolo of Zambia tomorrow in a 2018 World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
The Arsenal star while speaking at the Super Eagles media parley on Thursday in Uyo, said he looks forward to donning the colours of his fatherland after missing the last two games against Cameroon due to an injury.
“Talking of the last game against Cameroon, it was a great team performance. The coach will decide who starts, but I will be ready to play for the team on Saturday [against Zambia],” Iwobi who scored Nigeria’s first goal in the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign in Ndola against Zambia said.
He stated that his uncle, Austin ‘Jay-jay’ Okocha has set a benchmark for him in the national team which he strives to meet.
“I’m not keen about the (number 10) jersey, I wear 18 with the Super Eagles, and 17 at Arsenal. So for me, it doesn’t matter.
“But it will be great to achieve what my uncle [Okocha] achieved with the Nigerian team because he was a legend for the Super Eagles,” Iwobi add
